There’s nothing like a good ol’ war to help people feel the love eh. That must be what the leaders in Iran are thinking as they continue to try to provoke the western countries particularly the US and Britain into doing something whereby they can justly claim imperialist, Zionist interference. Akin to poking a dog in the eye and then trying to get it put down for being an aggressive dog after it tried to bite you to stop you from poking it in the eye.
The biggest problem with the American voting system is that only American’s can vote, I mean after all the President of America is generally known as ‘The President’ or seemingly the president of the World, if Hollywood is to believed. With this in mind, spare a thought for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and especially Ayatollah Khomeini. If it was up to them, they would happily bring back Bush. I could imagine them during the US elections fingers crossed, hoping wishing praying for a hawkish republican to take the reins. And what did they get – A bloody hippy. Dude wants to talk! Well, that’s not what they wanted to hear. Their common enemy gives them societal cohesivity and has done a very good job for the past 30 years, and then the Bush years, those were the days! You just can’t do anything wrong when someone is doing all the wrong for you, the World was in balance. So in answer to the accusation, yes the US is interfering, they are changing the status quo, and they are attacking Iranian civil life. They are brutalizing everything that they have had to stand and build their society around for the past 30 years, that’s interfering. How can the hardliners survive if unjustified? They exist because of a perceived lack of justice, and a formally well justified perceived lack of justice. Now the shoe is on the other foot and they are desperate for their own political survival, because that is what this is about.
When I heard that Ahmadinejad was criticizing Britain of sending hordes of secret service types to Iran just before the election, I think that like most others – including it would seem many in Iran – “Ok, and you just let them in? Well, you probably knew that they were rubbish anyway, because you knew they were secret service, which kinda defeats the object”. With these variables the only reasonable conclusion is that they either made up the story OR they knew that they were 007 types and said “cool, welcome to Iran, ok, pamphlets, you are going to need pamphlets, elections coming soon – you guys have got to get started”.
And the thing that seems the most preposterous is that Gordon Brown somehow masterminded this popular uprising. One thing for sure is that Gordy has proven time and time again that he is definitely no mastermind. To the point, that the opposition doesn’t even need to know the subjects in Prime Ministers Question time in advance, they can just turn up on the day and say ‘no, what where you thinking?’, and the whole country will agree. Man, such an easy win now Labour has lowered the bar. Maybe I should get into politics, I hear the perks are a steal.
